The Ferret is one of the few publishers in Scotland to have adopted an independent press-regulator called IMPRESS. It is the only press-regulator in the UK to meet standards established by the Press Recognition Panel.
IMPRESS sets out an Editorial Code that everything published by The Ferret should comply with. The Code is regularly updated to take account of the changing environment journalists work in.
" The IMPRESS Standards Code is a modern Code that aims to assist journalists by promoting and supporting their work. It also aims to protect the public from invasive journalistic practices and unethical news reporting."
