An article concerning the Solent Gateway, the former Marchwood Military Port in Private Eye dated 23` September caught my eye. Some readers will remember from their military service.
The former military port is being developed as Freeport by two companies, GBA Holding as successful port operator and logistic company and David MacBrayne Ltd.
David MacBrayne Ltd is the parent company of CalMac Ferries who run the ferries on the west coast. This a publicly owned private company.
Why is a company owned the Scottish Government company investing in an English Freeport? Wouldn’t have thought an enterprise like that would have been within their remit.
