Scotland is not alone with salmon net pen issues. Yesterday, over 300K net pen Atlantic salmon escaped when abnormal "eclipse" high tides tore open a single net pen near the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Both BC and Washington State wild stock at risk. Thanks to the Ferret coverage of net pen problems, our citizens are up in arms to stop the installation of 14 net pens in the Straits. Both BC and Puget Sound's Salish Sea wild salmon us the Straits as the corridor to their adventures in the blue Pacific. Indian tribes and other citizens being encouraged today to catch as many salmon as possible. This is a disaster.
