There are a number of ways you get notifications about new stories from The Ferret.
You can opt-in and opt-out of all services directly. However, should you be feeling deluged with notifications here's some help on how you can manage them better.
When you first visit our main site you may be prompted to opt-in to our free browser notifications. If these subsequently become annoying here's some links that show how you can turn them off.
The Ferret sends out a number of email alerts to our subscribers. When you sign-up as a subscriber we automatically add you to our weekly digest that goes out each Sunday.
As part of the sign-up process you also get the option to sign-up to "Ferret alerts" which will tell you about new stories that we publish within 24 hours of them going live.
There are links in the footer of all the emails we send out which allow you to opt-out of these emails at any time.
This community site also sends members a fortnightly digest of top-content, as well as alerts if you are mentioned as a user, or someone responds to a comment you have posted. You can manage these emails - and opt out of receiving them completely if you wish by logging in to this site and altering the appropriate settings in your profile.
We should add that try to collect minimal amounts of personal information from our subscribers. Therefore, if you opt out entirely of all email communications from The Ferret we will not be able to send you any member communications, even essential ones that relate to the governance of the co-operative.
It will therefore become your responsibility to check the Subscriber forum here for essential member communications from the Ferret board to the members of the co-operative.
