The Ferret, Scotland’s award-winning investigative journalism platform, is looking for a freelance contractor for a brand new fact check service.
The successful candidate will be an experienced digital journalist, who is both numerate and able to write under pressure with clarity, precision and grace.
The person we’re looking for will work four days per week, but ideally they will be willing to work flexibly within this.
A track record of meeting short-term deadlines and the ability to prioritise work and operate with minimal supervision will also be vital.
Some evening and weekend work will be required, and you must also have the ability to undertake occasional travel around Scotland.
In return, we can offer the support of a friendly and experienced board, a part-time intern who will also be working on the project, and the backing of hundreds of members.
For more information about the post, you should download the job pack.
To apply, send a CV and covering letter that sets out clearly how you meet the person specification to email@example.com
Applications received after the closing date of 12th February will not be considered.
We anticipate that shortlisted applicants will be interviewed on the 22nd of February, in Edinburgh.
